Parental Leave Overview for Dow Jones
Strong Families Make Strong Employees
Dow Jones offers employees access to our Parental Leave policy, which allows benefit eligible employees to take up to 20 weeks of paid time off, inclusive of any prevailing statutory benefits per local legislations, to care for a newborn child or a child that has been placed with the employee for adoption or foster care.
The eligible employee may take up to 20 weeks of leave paid at their current base salary. Such paid leave may begin up to 2 weeks prior to the expected delivery or placement date and must conclude within one (1) year following the birth or placement of the child. Parental leave is typically taken over a continuous 20-week period; however this leave may be taken, with manager approval, in shorter intervals of not less than one (1) week blocks of time, unless local legislations stipulated otherwise.
In the event you are eligible for more than 20 weeks through a local statutory benefit, you will be eligible for the higher benefit. This article provides insight on the Corporate Parental Leave program.
