Tuition Reimbursement Program Overview
Realtor.com’s Tuition Reimbursement Program will provide tuition reimbursement for approved courses taken by employees who have completed their 90-day introductory period and who are designated as Regular Full-Time or Regular Part-Time, working at least 30 hours per week.
The intent of this policy is to encourage employees to pursue courses of education that will advance both their careers and their professional contributions to the Company.
Eligible employees who fulfill the Tuition Reimbursement Program requirements will be reimbursed for 100% of their tuition, registration, books, and laboratory fees for approved courses, up to a maximum reimbursement of $2,500 per participating employee per calendar year. Parking and other miscellaneous fees are not reimburseable. Reimbursement for the tuition and fees associated with each approved course will be made following successful completion of the course. A participating employee will be considered to have successfully completed an approved course if he or she earns a final grade of C or better, or, in the case of pass/fail courses, a passing grade.
In order to receive reimbursement, a participating employee must be employed by realtor.com both at the time of submitting the Tuition Reimbursement Application and at the time of submitting final course grades to Human Resources.
Course Information:
Tuition Reimbursement is available for the following types of courses:
Degree Courses
Tuition reimbursement is available for courses taken at a college or university towards an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and/or Doctoral degree. Degree courses must be taken at a degree-granting college or university accredited by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and must result in the accrual of credit hours. Courses of a general education nature taken towards a degree program at an accredited college or university are reimbursable.
Non-Degree Courses
Tuition reimbursement is also available for certain courses that are not taken in pursuit of a degree. In order for an employee to be eligible for reimbursement for a course that is not taken in pursuit of a degree, the course must be taken at a college or university that awards grades and credits, and the course content must be applicable to the employee’s current position. The determination as to whether course content is applicable to a participating employee’s current position will be made by Human Resources at the time of submission of the Tuition Reimbursement Application.
How to Participate
In order to participate in the Tuition Reimbursement Program, an employee must submit a completed Tuition Reimbursement Application to Human Resources. Participating employees must state on the Tuition Reimbursement Program how the education or training course will meet the requirements explained above. Prior to submitting the application to Human Resources, the participating employee must obtain signature approval from both his or her manager and the Vice President of his or her department. The completed Tuition Reimbursement Application, including required signatures, must be submitted to Human Resources.
In order to receive reimbursement, each participating employee must present copies of receipts for all reimbursable expenses along with a copy of his or her course grades to Human Resources no later than thirty (30) days following course completion. Human Resources will then verify continued eligibility and approve reimbursement for those courses for which applications were previously approved and Program requirements have been satisfied.
Reimbursement will be made through the company payroll system during the next regular payroll cycle.
